Ayinke House to many living in Lagos is known as a baby factory. Just as Lagos Island Maternity center is to Lagos, such is Ayinke House to many Nigerians. But of what use is an edifice if it's lacking its basic medical facilities?

The Lagos State Government embarked on total reconstruction and remodeling of this house to make it a world-class facility. In a statement by the commissioner of health, he said, “The facility is a sight to behold. You can only compare facility here with what you can see in the developed world. There is no private hospital in Lagos can match it. It is totally out of this world. Women in Lagos are very in for a fantastic time.“The government has been gracious, they have recruited personnel to populate this edifice and after commissioning they are going full blast,” he added.

Lagos State Govt Donates 200 First Aid Kits To LASTMA Agency - Photos

In order to be proactive in case of emergency and accidents on the highway, the Lagos state government has donated 200 first aid kits to the LASTMA agency. The SSA on Health, Dr. Sola Pitan, made the presentation to the agency.

He was received by the CEO, AIG (Rtd) Chris Olakpe, and the GM, Mr. Wale Musa along with top management officials.

See How EKEDC Is Endangering Lives Of People At Onikan - Photos

This is McCarthy Street close to National Open University Lagos Island Campus at Onikan! For those who are familiar with this street will recognize these pictures.

The EKEDC transformer is carelessly open and endangering lives of people around this area. Take, for example, there is a mallam that sells provisions, pure water that is just a breath away from this transformer and nothing has been done. What is more alarming is that they drop their goods and wares close to this fuse whereas there is a zonal unit of the EKEDC at Moloney Street which is close to this location and many of its staff passes through this route daily, is it until when one gets electrocuted before we chase these people away?

Another one laying careless is close to Onikan Health Centre, the wall has been broken and the unit is open, same is the one close to Yoruba Tennis Club all within the same street and yet EKEDC has done nothing but to demand money and put people in darkness.

An appeal is made to the Lagos State Govt and also to EKEDC to make sure these places are put in order as we are approaching the rainy season, these places will be a death zone especially for children around these areas.

These Are Easy Ways To Get Your Yellow Fever Certificate in 5 Days - FAAN

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has released guidelines to get the Yellow Fever card in 5 days. The yellow fever card is one of the important document that every traveler must have in his/her procession before traveling. These are the easy steps.

Get the New e-Yellow card in 5 simple steps

STEP 1: Visit www.yellowcard.health.gov.ng or www.yellowcardnigeria.com

STEP 2: click on Yellow Card Application.

STEP 3: Fill in your personal information and click on submit button.

STEP 4: Click on the Payment button, generate your Remita Retrieval Receipt (RRR) code and pay the sum of N2,000 online (or go to the bank).

STEP 5: Take the payment receipt along with your international passport to any Port Health Services Office to get vaccinated and obtain the yellow card.

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers 1 year of age and older coming from a country with risk of Yellow Fever transmission.

The vaccination requirement is imposed by this country for protection against Yellow Fever since the principal mosquito vector Aedes aegypti is present in its territory.

A Yellow Fever certificate is valid 10 days after vaccination.

Existing and new Yellow Fever vaccination certificates are now valid for life. The World Health Organization announced that as of 11 July 2016, countries can no longer require travellers to show proof of re-vaccination or a booster dose as a condition of entry. Travellers should note that this new regulation may not be honoured by all border authorities during the transition phase.

Safety Tips On Comfortable Driving Position.

Driving is stressful, especially driving in areas that are traffic prone were you spend 2-5hours sitting and driving can cause some dangers to your spinal cord that is if you are used to sitting in a bad driving position. There are some tips for you to drive comfortably and also stay healthy.

1. Tilt your steering wheel down: 

Adjust your steering wheel so it points at your chest, not your head or your neck.

2. Move your seat backwards: 

Move your seat back as far as you can while still comfortably reaching the pedals. You should be at least 10 inches from the steering wheel, from your breastbone to the centre of the wheel.

3. Recline the back of the seat slightly: 

If you’re still too close to the steering wheel after moving your seat back, try reclining slightly. If that makes it harder to see the road, try raising your seat or placing a firm non-slippery cushion on the seat. Still closer than 10 inches? You may want to consider pedal extenders.

4. Keep your hands at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock on the steering wheel: 

We recommend that all drivers keep their hands positioned on opposite sides of the steering wheel. This is a more comfortable and stable steering position and it also keeps your hands clear of the airbag.

5. Always wear your seat belt properly: 

Seat belts save lives and prevent injuries. For your seat belt to be effective, it’s important for you to wear it properly. Adjust the seat belt height so that the shoulder strap lies flat against your chest, not on your neck or under your arm. The lap belt or lower strap should be snug across your hips.
