The Otedola Bridge fire incident has left many people in shock, while many are calling on the government to be proactive and be in charge of its duties, many are blaming the law enforcement who turn blind eyes to these killers on the road, they accused the LASTMA, FRSC of ignoring these trucks of death and always chasing after private cars. AutoReportNG did a bit of an exposee into what countries like UK, Canada and US are using.

To be sincere, it's a rare sight seeing fuel tankers on the road in the advanced country, an investigation into the UK and other countries show that fuels are transported using the rails and this makes them faster without any rancor. For those who will remember, there used be railways at Ijora-Apapa axis of NNPC depots back in the 1990s, this railway helps to decongest the roads and also our roads last longer. For people who school at Anglican Primary School, Baptist and lots of others in Marine Beach in the early 1990s will recount when railways are used to deliver petroleum products, but reserve seems to be the case as the rails are dismantled and the place is now a death trap.

The question now is when will Nigeria get it right?

When will powers that allow us to have a functional railway system to salvage all these deaths in our nation?

#Otedola Lagos fire: Nine bodies recovered, 54 vehicles burnt - Photos

A fuel-laden tanker has exploded along the Otedola Bridge axis of Berger in Lagos with the blaze engulfing at least 54 other vehicles.

The tanker was heading out of Lagos towards the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when the crash occurred, causing panic and fear.

Many people were feared trapped in their cars and killed in the blaze, while many others sustained burns.

The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Mr Adesina Tiamiyu, confirmed to Channels Television that rescue officials have been able to retrieve nine bodies from the scene of the fire so far.

Eyewitnesses, however, said the death toll might be higher as many people were trapped in their cars with rescue officials still working at the scene.
The fuel-laden tanker lost control, fell over and exploded.

“I saw the tanker reversing and before we could know it, the tanker fell down and started burning,” a witness said a tricycle rider who was close to the tanker.

He added that it took the grace of God for him to escape the fire with his tricycle.

As the fire spread, many drivers had to abandon their vehicles and flee as firefighters tried to battle the raging blaze.

Traffic was stopped on both sides of the road as emergency officials battled to put out the fire and attend to those affected.

Although the fire has been put out by the officials, the road remains closed with rescue officials still working on the scene.

Innoson Vehicles Upgrades From Manual To Automated Production

Innoson Vehicles has concluded plans to upgrade some sections of its plant from manual to automated production and this comes with the introduction of robot technology in the plant.

Speaking during the company's management meeting today, June 28th, 2018, the Chairman of Innoson Vehicles, Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma OFR, said it has become necessary the factory introduces new vehicle production lines which will see its vehicle annual production rise from 10,000 units to 60,000 units per annum. The Chairman further stated that some sections of the plant will be upgraded from manual production to automated production which will involve the use of robots. This may be a first for Nigeria.

Chief Chukwuma further reassured that Innoson Vehicles will continue to employ international best practices in the production of its vehicles and which will compare very favorably in terms of durability, fuel economy, and safety.

See The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus Configurator Valued At 14.3million Naira

Lincoln unveiled the 2019 Nautilus at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year and now the company has revealed the crossover will be priced from $40,340 in the United States.

Essentially a facelifted and renamed version of the MKX, the Nautilus costs $1,305 more than its predecessor. Despite the modest price increase, the Nautilus is an improvement as it features a more upscale design which shares styling cues with newer models such as the Continental and Navigator.

Besides the improved looks, the entry-level Nautilus features a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 245 hp (182 kW / 248 PS). The engine is less powerful than the previous 3.7-liter V6 but it comes with start/stop technology and a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard while all-wheel drive is available for an additional $2,495.

The Nautilus comes nicely equipped with a hands-free power tailgate and 18-inch aluminum wheels. Drivers will also find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a dual-zone automatic climate control system and an 8-inch SYNC 3 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Other niceties include active noise cancellation technology, 10-way power front seats, and a 10-speaker audio system with a subwoofer. There’s also a host of driver assistance systems including Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and a Blind Spot Information System.
