See The Breathtaking Concept Proposal for Uber Air Skyport By Corgan

Imagine a Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt where you can park your chopper close to your office and get in where you are done for the day.

Uber wants to revolutionize the way we travel, and the future of urban air mobility might be closer than you think. No, it’s not a chopper, it’s something more affordable transportation service that we common people would have access on it. Just imagine soaring above traffic where you can arrive at your office or airport at the right time. Corgan CONNECT | EVOLVED is a concept proposal for an Uber Air Skyport, this infrastructure features scalable, connected, and sustainable design that would change the way we travel.

Corgan prefers to implement scalable design that integrates with existing infrastructure and considers its environmental impact. This futuristic skyport is comprised of a kit of parts that can be customized for a variety of budgets and locations, therefore, it can be installed in most places to encourage a lifestyle of aerial mobility and connectivity.

Corgan Architecture and Design Firm has designed a Connection Plaza for this scenario. It’s a gateway and meeting point for a community that includes restaurants, retails, hosts cultural or art events, it also connects to last mile transportation services such as bike and scooter charging stations. Uber lobby would become the first touchpoint where passengers and UberAir can meet. The reception services can help passengers to customize their air travel experience with biometric ticket and security validation, everything can be done in less than a minute. Next, passengers can go to the Quick Queue Lounge on the elevated Flight Deck. On this deck, eVTOLs would be in constant and fluid motion, especially during peak hours with potential of 25 takeoffs and 25 landings every hour, carrying over 200 passengers per hour.

CONNECT | EVOLVED Air Skyport for Uber has been designed to be a practical system of modular components that can be built upon demands for urban air mobility. As demand grows, it would be easy to expand and create additional landing or parking pads with minimal additional development. The sustainable design of this skyport utilizes innovative water management systems, air purification methods, and on-site energy generation. It harnesses kinetic energy of visitors through the floors, while green spaces such as urban farms, parks, and playgrounds help reduce the heat island effect in cities. During the day, it harvests sunlight to create soft illumination during the evening.

Corgan selected sites for this design is Dallas/Fort Worth area, it’s the primary launch market for Uber Air. Dallas and its surrounding suburbs often experience daily population fluctuations due to visitors moving between downtown and the suburbs. Bound by a series of highway barriers, Uber Air offers an opportunity to not only connect tourists but also neighbors and residents that are separated by intrusive infrastructure. CONNECT | EVOLVED Air Skyport could build the future of urban air mobility by 2030.

See The Pickup Truck Model M Concept Proposal for Tesla

We can never get enough of Telsa in terms of the class, design and the technology behind it.

Elon Musk says that Tesla Pickup Truck will be a real world-beater, but we still haven’t heard about specific timing when it will be released. Emre Husmen made an attempt to design a pickup truck design proposal for Tesla, Model M.

Initially, I wanted to design this pickup truck inspired by the roadster concept’s design language… on this project, I thought about applying one-piece body design (without a separate back bed), because of the battery packs. So it’s much more rigid with independent suspensions, this allows it to have much better handling and performance. So I imagined this could be the quickest and fastest truck ever when it comes out. Since it’s the fastest truck available yet, I wanted to design very sporty and dynamic exterior, behind rear windows I placed “shark fins” to make it more aerodynamic and efficient. On the lower front, rear and side protectors there are hidden folding steps to assist users to enter/exit the cabin easily, so these were my basic ideas when visualizing it.

These are images of his design and its super cool...

See The 2030 Futuristic Rolls Royce Concept - Yay or Nah?

Futuristic 2030 Rolls Royce Eidolon concept car features unique seating layout to demonstrate how users can drive and interact with the vehicle, thanks to autonomous technology equipped in the car. It’s a design study that was inspired by the luxury brand as most wealthy people love to be seen in large luxury cars even though they have to face city maneuverability issues. This concept car solves the issues with Omni wheel technology, it creases its dimensions without compromising its maneuverability.

Luxury cars usually feature long body which might cause problems when driving in the city. By applying advanced Omni wheel technology, the wheelbase no longer dictates the maneuverability of a car, instead, now the car length determines city friendliness of the car. Turning radius of a standard sedan is around 11m, but with this technology, the radius becomes 0, even 6-meter long vehicle equipped with Omni wheel would be more maneuverable compared to a normal c-segment sedan.

Toyota released its comfort ride car at Tokyo motor show 2017

Toyota unveils the ‘fine-comfort ride’ concept at the 45th Tokyo motor show, a fuel cell vehicle that envisions mobility in a low-carbon society with advanced utilization of hydrogen and renewable energy. the concept vehicle proposes ‘a new form of the premium saloon’ by employing a flexible layout unique to electric-powered vehicles, and a large amount of available electric power using hydrogen as an energy source.

Toyota pursued further possibilities of automotive design through the development of the ‘fine-comfort ride’. it offers environmental performance by discharging no CO2 or harmful substances while in operation, together with the convenience of a generous cruising range with a hydrogen refueling time of about three minutes. the concept vehicle adopts a diamond-shaped cabin that narrows towards the rear, while being wider in all dimensions from the front to the center of the vehicle, maximizing the space of the second row seats and aerodynamic performance. It features a flexible layout unique to electric-powered vehicles, adopts an in-wheel motor, positions the wheels at the very corners of the vehicle, and utilizes a body underside cover, thereby achieving high running stability and quietness suited to a premium saloon.

In adopting the concept of being wrapped in comfort, the vehicle embodies future mobility that provides additional value other than movement to the passengers and is not simply just a ‘ride’. The agent function and the touch display are arranged around the driver and passenger seats. the seats allow for flexible adjustment according to posture, and the displays allow the driver and passengers to freely access information. the seat layout can be flexibly adjusted, so fine-comfort ride can be used as individual space or as a communication space for individuals. The fine-comfort ride boasts quietness and smooth running and also makes full use of the large amount of electricity provided by hydrogen as its energy source. the interior features a raft of innovative equipment, and the car can achieve a cruising range of approximately 1,000 km (620 miles).

Mercedes-Benz Goes Into Trailer Production, Releases Aero Trailer Concept

Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer is a design study from Mercedes-Benz to develop a new generation of aerodynamic trailer that features 18% less wind resistance and reduce fuel consumption by 5%. The objective of this design study is to show to the world that it is possible to further reduce the already low consumption and low CO2 emissions of state-of-the-art trucks.

In collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Commercial Vehicle Design department, they have managed to apply the same principles used in Mercedes-Benz Actros to bring wind resistance level down to 12 to 15 percent lower. The new Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer front airdam reduces the distance to the tractor unit, thus lowering the wind resistance by one percent. The other contribution comes from the side trim panels design which contributes to 8 percent improvement. The overall design of this trailer is slightly draw-in at the front and characterized by an opening at the rear, in this way, it steers the air in the direction of the striking rear diffuser. The diffuser has the shape of a parallelogram and links up with the underbody paneling. This improves the wind resistance by one to two percent. The rear end taper design improves wind resistance by further seven percent.

By lowering the wind resistance level, Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer provides great reduction in fuel consumption to almost 5 percent in real-life road traffic. Although the wind resistance level has been reduced, the fundamental load compartment design remains intact, the dimension remains unaffected. The only limitation would be the fact the this truck’s length measurement go over current permissible limit by almost half a meter. Therefore, it’s important to propose changes in legislation to permit Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer to travel on the road.
