This Land Rover BackPacker Is A Perfect Vehicle For Travelers - Photos

In a world where they are limitless room for innovation and creativity, auto designers and makers are doing all they could to outsmart each other and to win to the heart of their loyal customers.

Talk about how reductionism can lead to a better travelling experience, Land Rover BackPacker is a concept travelling vehicle that questions about space and complexity needed while exploring the world 4×4. This project actually adds appeal to the vehicle that could lead or encourage young adventurers to enjoy outdoors even more. Inspired by the idea of fighting climate change while offering light travelling, Land Rover BackPacker features an open design, it creates an interactive space with its surroundings. This vehicle offers a multifunctional approach to be more than just a car, but also a space to hang out, a place to sleep in the wild, a mobile tent you might say.

Designed by Edwin Senger, Land Rover Backpacker Traveling Vehicle was inspired by global adventures of the first Land Rover Series 01, which features modular and highly functional design.

“To reinterpret this spirit and to bring it into a future context was the main goal besides combining it with the approach and philosophy of modern minimalists and the efficiency of tiny house lifestyles.”

During the design process, there were a lot of challenges on how to create a compressed space that still provides comfort and freedom. This project also wants to know how this affects interaction with nature and what reduction might add to user experience while travelling. Therefore, it’s important to make sure there’s a balance between comfort and freedom to guarantee memorable moments of your adventures.

The Land Rover BackPacker concept is targeting the needs of more sustainable and more flexible experiences in the future. Instead of designing a car for an individual, this concept aims to be part of an on-demand car-sharing service, which is globally set up to reach people from different regions, different cultures and different backgrounds.

BackPacker travelling vehicle offers a multifunctional space enough for two people and the freedom of a capable off-roader. To make travelling easier, the vehicle service comes with modular equipment kits that provide things you need in nature such as cooking equipment, water tank, solar sun tail, or weather protection, just plan your next adventure for a great experience.

The 2020 Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Is the James Bond of SUVs

Land Rover has revealed the new range-topping variant of its Range Rover Velar SUV, and it's 45 percent more powerful than the current top-of-the-line V-6 Velar P380. The full name of the new model is—take a deep breath—the Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition. The model follows in the footsteps of the understated Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic, opting for a sleek, unassuming exterior with a monstrous powertrain under the hood.

To that end, the Velar SVA (we'll call it that for brevity's sake) uses the exact same engine as its larger, more luxurious sibling: a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 making 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque. It's the same engine found in a litany of other Jaguar Land Rover products, and Land Rover says it will shoot the Velar SVA to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 170 mph. Both metrics are just a tad slower than the quoted figures for the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, which, yes, also shares the Velar's engine and many of its performance mods.

In addition to the larger engine, the SVA gets larger brakes: 15.5-inch discs in the front, 15.6 inches at the rear. Land Rover says the "innovative designs dissipate heat more effectively," and the calipers are painted red, because red is sporty. The air suspension, steering, eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel-drive system, driving modes, and rear diff all get specific tuning. The active exhaust is lighter than the standard setup and makes the Velar "sound like no other SUV," according to Land Rover; you can briefly hear it for yourself in the video below. The SVA also gets a larger fuel tank (21.7 gallons), something we've complained about on our long-term Velar P250.

Unlike the F-Pace SVR and the Range Rover Sport SVR, which are covered in scoops and wings and vents and flares, the Velar SVA's exterior design has stayed as subtle as possible. It's like James Bond—he's always wearing a gorgeous tailored suit, but he can still kick a lot of ass in it. The SVA has a new front bumper with larger intakes, a different rear diffuser with four square tailpipes, some new 21- and 22-inch wheel designs, and a special metallic color called Satin Byron Blue. The updates are minor, but they do a good job of making the Velar look aggressive while still honoring its stunning minimalist design theme.

There's a knurled-metal finish to the exterior badging, which is carried through to the infotainment and HVAC knobs and the design of the digital gauge cluster. New performance seats are standard, as is a sportier steering wheel with aluminum shift paddles, and additional carbon-fiber trim and some new color combinations are available. Land Rover also makes sure to point out that the Velar's cargo space has been unaffected by the new exhaust system.

The Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition will only be available for one model year—and in limited numbers—and pricing has yet to be announced. We expect the SVA to land somewhere between the $80,985 (#30million) Jaguar F-Pace SVR and the $114,595 (#42million) Range Rover Sport SVR; with the Velar P380 R-Dynamic HSE already starting at $75,025 (#27million), we bet the Velar SVA will be on the higher end of that spectrum. A Land Rover spokesperson said that there are no plans for a super-sporty SVR version of the Velar, so if you want your Velar with V-8 power, get your order in now.

Land Rover Utaric Autonomous Delivery Van With Companion Drone

It’s undeniable that autonomous transportation system is a real vision, all automotive manufacturers take this seriously as the future generation of vehicles. Today, the technology of autonomous systems is not just a fantasy, work on implementing such a system is a very advanced stage.

Land Rover Utaric is a concept of an autonomous delivery van. Inspired by Land Rover’s design DNA, this project takes growing interest around autonomous technology into a highly functional vehicle. This design proposal wants to use Utaric to transport goods, it features many advantages, one of them is the spacious cabin since there’s no need for a driver’s cockpit. As an autonomous vehicle, Utaric can operate without interruption, it won’t show any sign of fatigue and distraction, improving the safety of the other road users.

Designed by Kamil Podolak, Land Rover Utaric Autonomous Vehicle is designed to be able to communicate with each other. It means that a delivery service company can organize a fleet of autonomous vehicles easily, each unit is equipped with a supervising drone, it can setup optimal routes and help to communicate with the vehicle when there’s no access to the satellite network. Utaric can operate independently as part of the whole complex system.

Utaric is equipped with multiple sensors, cameras, and radar where they are responsible for navigation and communication between the central system and the drone. Even though it’s an autonomous vehicle, it is still possible to remotely control Utaric in a special situation when human intervention is required. Those large wheels increase clearance, allowing for efficient movement beyond asphalt roads.

Suspension and transmission elements are hidden in superstructures that become an integral part of the vehicle, thus creating a relationship between the elements of the body and wheel design. The design style of Utaric clearly represents its intended use, it also contains elements typical for current Land Rover design solutions, rectangular positional marker lights, and an extended line of rear lights, it is a continuation of the style given by the latest model of the British producer Range Rover Velar. Also, the brand’s philosophy, which is clearly associated with off-road or open-road vehicles, is an important element of stylistic identification.

The batteries are placed at the ceiling, they function not only as the power source for the drive, they also responsible as induction charging for the drone, which landing site is located on the roof of Utaric.

Land Rover Allows You To Customize Your 2020 Range Rover Evoque

Less than a day after Land Rover unveiled the all-new Range Rover Evoque to the world, the official online configurator for the crossover has been released.

The tool provides budding customers (or anyone with a little too much free time), three variants to initially choose from; the standard Evoque, the Evoque R-Dynamic, and the Evoque First Edition.

The Evoque First Edition is obviously the range-topping model and is adorned with a plethora of ugprades over lesser Evoque models. For example, its exterior comes complete with advanced Matrix LED headlights, privacy glass, a fixed panoramic roof, front fog lights, Automotive Headlight Levelling, as well as Auto-dimming, power fold, heated door mirrors with memory and approach lights.

The First Edition also comes standard with 20-inch wheels and gains unique interior parts like configurable ambient lighting, an electrically adjustable steering column, and 14-way heated electric front memory seats.

The new Evoque shares an uncanny resemblance to the larger Velar.

Once you select your desired Evoque variant, you’ll be given a selection of engines to choose from. Next, there are a number of specification packs that can be added. Despite being the range-topping model, the Evoque First Edition can only be configured in one of three colors. Buyers of the lesser models will have more paint choices at their disposal, including the likes of Firenze Red (pictured), Santorini Black, and Indus Silver.

In the cabin, there are a number of configurations available but most consist of quite restrained tones of black and grey. With that being said, there is a dark red leather option available. No matter what interior configuration you select, the Velar-inspired cabin looks good.

The British automaker has yet to announce pricing details for the U.S. market. However, we do know that the new Evoque starts at £31,600 ($40,700) and rises to £40,350 ($51,970) in the UK.
