90% of Lagos-Ibadan Railway Has Been Completed, See Images From Various Sites

The question on the lips of many Nigerians have been when will the Lagos-Ibadan Railway start work after all the minister promised last year that by May 2019 the train would have been working. In as much as we try to reply series of emails, calls, and messages on the social media, it is expedient to note that we can't answer all the questions as we don't work directly or closely with the minister of transportation, RT. Hon Rotimi Amaechi but we can assure you that work is ongoing at various locations at Lagos, Ibadan, and Abeokuta. The minister was in Lagos recently where he toured Apapa, Constain, Ebute, Agege and Agbado Stations to see things for himself and see how work is going.

For example, Costain is getting a new Bridge, as part of the Lagos-Ibadan Rail project. The old Bridge will be demolished (it’s too low for the new Train), Construction has already started on the new one. Also, Demolitions are ongoing from the site of the Apapa Station to make way for the railway line.

Recently, the completion of all civil works and this include, embankment, cuttings, culverts, and bridges have been completed, also, out of the 156.8km Lagos - Ibadan Railway, Section 3 of the measured 45km road between chainage DK75 to DK120 has been done and civil works of this section which includes a 6.67 million cu.m of earthworks, 1 major bridge, 2 medium bridges, 5 underpasses, 12 overpasses, and 72 culverts have all been completed. The Bridge at DK77 has been completed too and ready to be used.

So far, the tracks now stand at KM 123, now in Oyo State they promised to get to the final stop (KM 158) in Ibadan by end of May or early June

These are some of the images from the site across the 3 states
