Lamborghini Goes Into Electric Bicycles Production
With the arrival of the Urus, Lamborghini is branching into new territory. But apparently, the crossover isn’t the only new type of vehicle the Italian marque is offering these days.
Lamborghini unveiled a new line of electric bicycles at its factory museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese yesterday. It’s not actually making the e-bikes itself, though. Instead, they’re licensed to a specialist manufacturer called Italtechnology. But they feature branding and livery from the famous supercar manufacturer all the same.
Italtechnology’s Lamborghini e-bike range includes two initial models. There’s a mountain bike designed for off-road use and another road version designed for quick acceleration.
Both feature paintjobs created by Lamborghini’s Ad Personam division, using paint colors typically reserved for the company’s supercars. They’ll be sold online and at specialized retailers starting next month.
These are the first electric two-wheelers we’ve seen bearing the Lamborghini name and logo. But they’re not the first bicycles the Italian automaker has added to its lineup. Just last month at the Geneva Motor Show it showcased a strictly pedal-powered road bike produced by Cervélo Cycles.
