Lagos commissions Ketu Layby

Lagos State Government today commissioned the completed Ketu Layby, just as it declared that the project is one of many across the State for commercial buses as part of efforts to prevent passenger vehicles from impeding the free flow of traffic on main roads.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Commissioner of Transportation, Prince Anofi Olanrewaju Elegushi stated that the project came into reality as a result of the massive investment of the present administration in the State’s transportation sector geared towards ensuring the free flow of traffic, road safety as well as social and economic development.

Prince Elegushi, therefore, urged commercial bus drivers and the general public to make good use of the facility and not turn it into mechanic workshop or an abode for all sorts of illegal activities as the State Government would not fold its arms and watch misuse that will defeat the original purpose for the facilities.

Earlier, the Corporate Relations Manager, Planet Projects, Bunmi Goodluck - representing the contractor - stated that the layby is designed to support bus level boarding and boasts of facilities which include a Bus Shelter with bus information gadgets to indicate the arrival time of buses in conformity with the Bus Reform Project, as well as seats for the elderly and the physically challenged.
