England Star, Wayne Rooney Hit With Two-Year Driving Ban

After pleading guilty recently to charges of drinking and driving, Everton striker Wayne Rooney has been banned from driving on public roads for two years.

He's also been ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work part of a 12-month community order, as reported by The Mirror.

"Following today's court hearing I want publicly to apologize for my unforgivable lack of judgment in driving while over the legal limit. It was completely wrong," stated the former England captain.

"I have already said sorry to my family, my manager and chairman and everyone at Everton FC. Now I want to apologize to all the fans and everyone else who has followed and supported me throughout my career. Of course I accept the sentence of the court and hope that I can make some amends through my community service."

Since Rooney won't be getting behind the wheel of a car anytime soon, rides like his BMW i8, Overfinch-tuned Range Rover or ABT SQ7 won't be posing for the cameras as much.

He was often seen driving the SQ7 while at Manchester United, whereas the BMW i8 was the car he chose to drive up to Goodison Park on the day he returned to Everton this season.
