Kelly-Moss's Porsche Carrera 964 Converted Into An Extreme Off-Roading

When the team at Kelly-Moss road and race were given a 1990 Porsche 964 C4 and told it had to drive smoothly on both the highway and rutted country trails, they embraced the challenge with open arms. the racing company is built on the philosophy that ‘form follows function’ so creating an agile car that also looked slick was a perfectly tailored task.

The team at kelly-moss used Pirelli Pzero gravel spec rally tires wrapped around custom-made braid rally Dakar wheels. for added suspension, the engineers modified original rocker panels to allow more clearance for long travel suspension and wider track. triple-tube, 3-way adjustable long travel kelly-moss racing spec dampers were fitted to give the model the same suspension used on the top FIA world rally cars.

To adapt the model for extreme terrain, the team amplified its oil-cooling capacity by relocating the oil cooler and adding a thermostatic switch controlled fan. kelly-moss made the bold decision to create statement front and rear bumpers, fabricated from 6061 T6 aluminum to be light and stylish, but also to protect the car in extreme off-roading situations.

The team also added bright LEDs to both bumpers and placed a light pod with 4 state-of-the-art HID Hella lights that hark back to the old Porsche Paris-Dakar rally cars. Finishing touches included mud flaps, custom fender liners, and a martini graphics package for a retro feel.
